TWOC: Stonewall 50 and the Women who Sparked a Movement

The Transgender Resource Center of Long Island presents an overview of the untold history of New York City’s 1969 Stonewall Riots and the Transgender Women of Color who helped to start the modern day LGBT movement. Hear the stories of Marsha P. Johnson, Sylvia Rivera, Miss Major, and more as New York celebrates World Pride and the 50th anniversary of the events that started it all. 

*A gallery depicting the historical events of the Stonewall Riots will be on display for the entire month of June.

2019 Long Island Equality March and Pride Picnic

Long Island Equality March & LGBTQIA Pride Picnic!

The Transgender Resource Center of Long Island will be holding the 2nd Annual Long Island Equality March & LGBTQIA Pride Picnic June 2nd, 2019! March with us through Sayville!

11:30 AM – Participants will rally in MTA parking lot, located on Depot St & Greene Ave, across from the Sayville Train Station. Cars wishing to park MUST use the entrance on Greene Ave.

12:30 PM – Line up begins!

1 PM – Walk begins! We will march on the street heading East on Depot St, make a right heading South on Railroad Ave, & march until we reach The Common Ground at Rotary Park in Sayville! Entire march is approximately a half a mile.

1:30 – 6 PM – The Pride Picnic begins as soon as the first person enters the park! The south side of the park will be a reserved picnic area where you can eat, socialize & show your Long Island LGBTQIA PRIDE! The North end of the park will have Community Organizations from Naussa & Suffolk, local food vendors selling hot lunch & soda / water, along with a selection of Craft Vendors.

Don’t want to march? Meet us at the park! This event is FREE & open to ALL of LI’s LGBTQIA community!

The Transgender Resource Center of Long Island is proud to announce a new support group for transgender, non-binary, gender non-conforming, intersex youth and their families. This exciting new group will also feature community building events, activities, excursions and much more.
 
We invite you to join us for a meet & greet event taking place on Saturday, March, 30th from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM. Come meet our directors and find out more information about our program during a special Q and A session. Our programs are open to children of all ages.
